
Pinecrest BESS
DEVELOPMENT
The Pinecrest BESS project seeks to provide firmed renewable power in one of the best locations on the grid in NSW.
It is proposed to be located approximately 12km north west of Lithgow, between the existing Mt Piper and Wallerawang high voltage substations, and on the previous Pinecrest Solar development footprint.
The proposed site is next to existing Transgrid transmission lines.

Project Details

Up to 500 MW / 1000 MWh with a 25-year operational life

Energy storage containers and electrical infrastructure to be installed on a 23 ha site near Lithgow.

A new ~150m high-voltage overhead transmission line, connected to either existing Transgrid high voltage transmission lines or the new Mount Piper to Wallerawang transmission line.
