Wooreen BESS

CONSTRUCTION

Banpu Energy Australia is the joint owner with Energy Australia of a 350 MW / 1400 MWh battery energy storage system located next to the site of the Jeeralang Power Station in the La Trabe Valley.

The Wooreen battery is expected to come online in the second half of 2027 and when fully operational will be capable of powering up to 230,000 homes for four hours during peak demand. Energy Australia will operate the battery under a storage services agreement.
